Senior Engineer, Field Engineer, Project Engineer. Highest responsibility, Project Engineer/Manager of B52-C & D radar system. Designed first digital pulse decoding device using the first integrated circuits.

I built this business from a father/mother/son and two employee maintenance company, that had one major and one minor customer, to a sixty employee business with hundreds of customers and a complete line elevator operation covering the northeastern quarter of Illinois.

Significant accomplishments include: First application of full computer control to elevators in the Midwest. First successful independent installation of solid-state motor drive in the Midwest. First full computerization of an elevator business including scheduling of labor, route assignment, accounting, contracts, etc. Negotiation with labor unions, government agencies, etc.

 

March 1981 to March 1984: Gregory Elevator division of Westinghouse

Chief Engineer. Design equipment and direct solution of technical problems as assigned. Sell and collect accounts as assigned. Supervising electrician.

November 1982 to January 1997: Adams Elevator Equipment Company

Vice President of Technical Support and Customer Service. Manage Department helping customers with any type problems. Provide technical backup to customers and all Adams departments as needed. Main duties involve highly sophisticated electrical and electronic equipment. Bring the viewpoint of the construction, modernization, repair and maintenance contractor to Adams. Interact with consultants, governmental agencies and approval agencies such as UL and CSA regarding all of Adams products. Provide the technical expertise to defend any product liability lawsuits against Adams.

October 1984 to present (Full time February 1997): Vertex Corporation

Vertex was founded in 1984 to continue my consulting activities, and allow for adding additional consultants. The business of Vertex is consulting exclusively in the field of vertical transportation, equipment covered by the ASME A17 series of codes and ASSE A10.4 & A10.5. Vertex consults with architects, developers, building owners and managers, condominiums and cooperatives, hospitals and universities, contractors, manufacturers, and litigants, both plaintiffs and defendants.
